FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Salvation Army Orange County’s “Night For Others” Gala Featuring Howie Mandel

Los Angeles, California, December 6, 2023 – The Salvation Army Orange County is delighted to announce its premier annual fundraising gala, "Night For Others," taking place on Friday, December 8th, 2023, at the Balboa Bay Club, Newport Beach. This year, we are thrilled to welcome the renowned entertainer Howie Mandel as our special guest, adding an extra layer of excitement and inspiration to the evening.

Last year, thanks to generous community support, the gala raised a remarkable $2.9 million, contributing significantly to our ongoing efforts in providing vital services. These funds have been instrumental in the opening of 72 units of permanent supportive housing in October.

The focal point of this year's gala is the fundraising for the next phase of the Center of Hope: The Center for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI). The Center of Hope is a cornerstone in our mission to address the homeless crisis in Orange County, featuring a $110 million public/private partnership. This initiative uniquely combines a 325-bed emergency shelter with 72 permanent supportive housing apartments and comprehensive services including medical, dental, and pet care, alongside our acclaimed 175-bed rehabilitation center in Anaheim.

The forthcoming Center for Applied Research and Innovation, encompassing the Samueli Solutions Hub and the Bill Gross Medical Center, aims to revolutionize our approach to homelessness through full, wrap-around care and groundbreaking research. This center will not only offer essential health services but will also serve as a national model for innovation in tackling homelessness and other significant societal challenges.

With the support of our community at the upcoming "Night For Others" gala, we anticipate breaking ground for CARI in Spring 2024. The Salvation Army Southern California Division expresses hope for continued community support, emphasizing the transformative impact of the Center of Hope in rehabilitating and reintegrating our neighbors back into the community.

We invite you to be a part of this meaningful cause and support The Salvation Army’s Orange County "Night For Others" fundraising efforts. For more information and to contribute, please visit our website here.
