Salvation Army Begins Relief Effort For El Dorado Fire

Sep 10, 2020 | by The Salvation Army

Los Angeles, September 10, 2020 - - Late yesterday The Salvation Army was asked to assist in the feeding of more than 200 evacuees of the El Dorado wildfire still burning out of control in the San Bernardino Mountains. More than 12,000 acres have been consumed and evacuation orders have included communities near Big Bear Lake. Thanks to the Dennys Restaurant chain in the area, The Salvation Army was able to provide 420 meals (210 dinners Wednesday night and 210 breakfasts Thursday morning) to evacuees in several hotel/motel shelters in Colton, Moreno Valley, Redlands and San Bernardino.

Once evacuation orders are lifted, The Salvation will transition to mobile feeding format and will continue to respond with assistance as long as the situation with the El Dorado Fire remains in doubt. To donate to fire relief, please go to
