At The Salvation Army's Silvercrest Senior Residence, Lotus Belle and her husband enjoy a cozy home for low-income seniors. Thanks to this special housing program, they can utilize more of their income for life’s essentials and less for rent. It’s a tremendous relief for them.
They are also able to foster friendships with other seniors and enjoy nourishing meals through the Senior Nutrition program. Whenever Lotus Belle speaks about The Salvation Army, her face lights up with joy and gratitude for the unwavering support she has found in these programs.
“I’m proud to be part of The Salvation Army,” she says with a big smile on her face. “It doesn't matter what you are, where you are, or where you've been, they'll help you.”
Giving back feels good!
Lotus Belle also loves spending her free time volunteering when she can. “I've always done bell ringing,” she tells us. “I love The Salvation Army. I can be in a depression, but when I go out there ringing that bell and make somebody smile, it just makes my day.”
